This year has been outstanding. We have been doing a Variety of work and my favourite was writing. I have completed a number of writing activities such as characters descriptions, fractions, procedures, fairy tales and reflective writing. I don’t think I have written so much in my life. I know I have improved heaps with my writing and it is now one of my favourite subjects (maybe, I could be a writer one day).
The triathlon was amazing this year. It was special to me because I won the year 5 to 8 section.
In class we have had a lot of opportunities to use the computers. I have really enjoyed putting together my own blog. I’ve enjoyed putting my work on my blog for the world to see so visit me on www.brendanblogga.blogspot.com

TWTW
Writing
We have been making storeys into procedures we have done most of them with Mrs Lang
Maths
For maths we haven't been doing muck because Mr Ratana has been away with our reliever Mrs Lang we have been playing a game called"mouse money making"some places in the game were "mouse trap loose all your balance and mouse trap loose half your balance"
First aid
For first aid we learned how to help someone that is choking. Keegan got his arm made like it had a piece of glass in it it looked very reel.
Hats
This week we started wearing our hats some of us were wearing then like we were sailors but we were told of so now we were then normal.

Ripped off hoof
On Wednesday the 6th I was at the cow shed when a cow jumped out of a yard and got her hoof twisted and stuck in a corner of the triangle yard.
She somehow ripped off part of her hoof. It was hanging on by the skin. There was blood going all over the ground. You could see its bones. It made me feel ‘sick to the bone’. Somehow it stood up and started walking down the race. Our worker went and got it and put it in the paddock.
We got a guy out to shoot it because it sat down and couldn’t get up again. While this was sad, it meant the cow did not suffer. I had to tell my sister her cow was no longer with us.

TWTW(the week that was)
During this week on Wednesday and Thursday Carmen has been coming to teach us first aid. Although i know some of the things she’s teaching me it good to know the more technical things. For reading we have been reading procedures after we have read the procedure we get to make it me and Jonathan made a compass but it didn’t really work. I think it was because of the wind. (That was a bummer). In hope to do more procedures because they are fun to do. With our blogs we have been commenting on other peoples posts on their blogs.

Fractions
A fraction is a part of a whole number. A numerator is the top number of a fraction its how many pieces have been selected. The denominator is the bottom number. To remember this think of “d” stands for down and how many pieces overall.
A top heavy fraction is a number that the numerator is bigger than the denominator for example20/5. (Remember all you do is divide 5 into 20 which is 4).
A normal fraction is like ⅔ and ⅗.
A mixed fraction is a fraction that is mixed with a whole number and a fraction for example 3⅓ and 5⅕.
When finding fractions of whole numbers such as ⅔ of 21 you need to split 21 into 3 groups (7) and times it by 2 = 14.
Remember fractions are the same as division (÷).
